A slurry pump refers to a device that converts electric energy into kinetic energy and potential energy of the medium by increasing the energy of a solid and liquid mixed medium through the action of centrifugal force (rotation of the pump's impeller). Mainly used in: mines, power plants, dredging, metallurgy, chemicals, building materials and petroleum industries.

Under the influence of centrifugal force, liquid is thrown from the center of the impeller to the outer edge and receives energy, leaving the outer edge of the impeller at a high speed into the volumetric pump case. In the volume-shaped pump case, the liquid decelerates due to the gradual expansion of the flow channel, converts part of the kinetic energy into hydrostatic energy, and finally flows into the discharge pipe with higher pressure and is delivered to the required location. When liquid flows from the center of the impeller to the outer edge, a certain vacuum is formed in the center of the impeller. Since the pressure above the liquid surface of the storage tank is greater than the pressure at the pump inlet, the liquid is continuously pressed into the impeller.

The following points should be paid attention to during the maintenance of the slurry pump:

(1) The water pressure and amount of water in the bearing must meet the requirements, adjust (or replace) the tightness of the filler at any time, and do not cause the shaft seal to leak. And replace the bushings in time.

(2) When replacing bearings, be sure to ensure that the bearing components are dust-free and that the lubricating oil is clean}. When the pump is running, the bearing temperature should generally not exceed 60 to 65 ℃, and the maximum is no more than 75 ℃.

(3) It is necessary to ensure the coaxiality of the motor and pump, ensure that the elastic pads in the coupling are complete and correct, and replace them promptly after damage.

(4) Ensure that the pump components and piping system are installed correctly, firm and reliable.

(5) Some parts of the slurry pump are wearable parts. Pay attention to the wear and tear of the consumables during daily use, and repair or replace them in a timely manner. In the process of repairing or replacing wear parts of the slurry pump, it is necessary to ensure that the assembly is correct and that the gap is adjusted properly to avoid the occurrence of tight friction.

(6) The suction line system of the slurry pump must be free of air leakage. At the same time, attention should be paid to whether the suction port is blocked during operation. The medium required to be treated by the slurry pump contains solid particles, so the separator placed in the inlet pool should meet the requirements that the slurry pump can pass through particles to reduce the possibility of blockage caused by excessively large particles or long-fiber materials entering the pump body.
