OPGW optical cable can adopt aluminum tube type, aluminum skeleton type and (stainless) steel tube type structures according to user requirements. The optical fiber is sleeved into a casing made of stainless steel, surrounded by aluminum clad steel wire (AS wire), and the outer layer is wrapped with aluminum alloy wire (AA wire) and twisted into a cable. When the first two types of OPGW are subjected to short-circuit current impact, the aluminum tube and aluminum skeleton will generate relatively high temperatures and diffuse inward, thereby affecting fiber transmission and even fiber breakage. However, the stainless steel tube type has significantly improved. If the structure contains aluminum, after exceeding 200 ℃, the aluminum first undergoes irreversible plastic deformation. At the same time as the structure is damaged, the increased sag of OPGW not only cannot maintain a safe distance from the conductor, but also may collide with the conductor. If it is a full steel structure, it can work at 300 ℃ for a short time.

Product application: OPGW optical cables are mainly used on 500KV, 220KV, and 110KV voltage level lines. Due to factors such as power outages and safety, they are mostly used on newly built lines. Lines with high voltage exceeding 110KV have larger spans (usually above 250M). Easy to maintain, easy to solve line crossing problems, and its mechanical characteristics can meet the requirements of large line crossings; The outer layer of OPGW is metal armor, which has no impact on high-voltage corrosion and degradation; OPGW must be powered off during construction, resulting in significant losses during power outages. Therefore, OPGW should be used in the construction of high-voltage lines above 110KV.
