Very good compressive strength . The toughness properties are moderate . Working hardness 58-64 HRC . 1.2080 is a common tool steel under the ledeburitic 12 % chromium steels and is used for the following applications : high-performance blanking dies , punching tools , punch , shear blades , knives Baking & head temple , broaches , drawing tools , drawing dies , ring rolling , wood cutter . Characteristics: soft-annealed max. 250 HB Machinability: 4 (1 = badt - 10 = good) Production: Round and Flat Size according to customer's requirement Benefit of sawn cuts: The processing with the saw is a mechanical processing of the material, which results in a significantly lower unintended deformation and increased hardness for the existing structure, such as the thermal cutting. Thus, the machined workpiece has a homogeneous structure even at the edge, which does not change in the continuation of the material. This circumstance allows immediate finishing of the workpiece with milling or drilling . So it is not necessary to anneal the material or make a similar operation beforehand.
