Zirconia ceramic
Zirconia ceramic is a ceramic material mainly composed of zirconia. In terms of structural ceramics, zirconia differs from traditional ceramics in that it has high strength, wear resistance, and flexibility, far surpassing most other technical ceramics. Zirconia is a very sturdy industrial ceramic with excellent properties in hardness, fracture toughness, and corrosion resistance.
Compared with metals, special ceramics are widely used in the field of structural ceramics due to their high toughness, bending strength, wear resistance, excellent insulation performance, and thermal expansion coefficient close to that of steel.
Density of zirconia ceramics:
The theoretical density of pure zirconia is 5.89g/cm3. However, pure zirconia ceramics are prone to cracking at around 1100 ℃, while adding yttrium oxide stabilizer can stabilize them at room temperature. So, the density of yttria stabilized zirconia is 6.05 (g/cm3)
Chemical formula of zirconia ceramic:
The molecular weight of pure zirconia is 123.22, the chemical formula is ZrO2, and the melting point is 2715 ℃. Usually contains a small amount of hafnium oxide, but has no significant effect on the performance of zirconia.
